Dinner Date Review: Fuego at Troika Sky Dining
Last weekend it was time for our next dinner date, and we made reservations for restaurant Fuego at Troika Sky Dining. Overlooking the Petronas Towers we enjoyed South American tapas and spectacular desserts.
Tapas
‘Fuego is about new twists to classic cocktails.
Fuego is tapas that you have never seen before.
Fuego is sharing with friends and family.
Fuego is the Fire that grills our big slabs of meat.’
This restaurant is indeed perfect for friends and family who are having a nice evening away and want to try different kinds of tapas. It is important to make reservations here, especially at the weekends, because it is packed! They work in shifts here, so you can either join them from six pm to half-past 8 or you are welcome from half-past 8 onwards at the second shift.

Fresh Corn on the Cob Elote
Also, the ‘Spinach Hashbrown’ looked like a small piece of art. This grated potato with spinach and sour cream costs RM25 converted €5,20. The perfect addition to the watermelon and the ‘Fresh Corn on the Cob Elote’ (RM28 = €5,80). I normally don’t like to eat with my hands, but this corn cob was more than worth it. The jalapeño cream that provides the spiciness, the paprika, and Pecorino cheese gives a delicious taste to the corn.

Berries Pavlova
We saw the ‘Berries Pavlova (RM35 = €7,25) passing by on another table, and we didn’t want to miss this thrilling spectacle. The pavlova with red fruit and vanilla chantilly cream only became visible when the server poured ‘flambé brandy’ over it. This dessert also tasted delicious, so don’t eat too many tapas but keep enough room for a few desserts! We sat outside all evening overlooking the Petronas Towers and the fountain in Suria KLCC, which starts at nine o’clock in the evening with the light show. A cozy, modern setting with delicious food, a beautiful view, and a nice glass of wine! In total, we paid RM566,10 with the four of us, converted this is €117,60. The bottle of wine cost RM240, €59,85. We had expected in advance that it would be a lot more expensive to eat here, especially when you drink alcohol, the price goes up very quickly. So this was not too bad, and we are already looking forward to the next restaurant we will try in Troika Sky Dining!

Troika Sky Dining
Fuego is part of Troika Sky Dining. In this building in the heart of KLCC on the 23rd floor, there are four other restaurants besides Fuego. All with their specialties. Coppersmith serves the most special cocktails, at Strato you can enjoy delicious Italian food, and Claret has the most elegant wine bar of Kuala Lumpur. For French cuisine, you have to be at the restaurant Cantaloupe, and all these restaurants come with the most beautiful views over the center of Kuala Lumpur.
Grilled watermelon
Fuego serves South American tapas. The portions are not very large, so you can order enough to try and share. We were with four people and ordered ‘The Fuego Guacamole’ (RM28 = €5,80), and this was fantastic! We have heard several times that you have to try the guacamole here, and we are glad that we did. You get enough crackers and chips to dip, including banana chips. The ‘Grilled Watermelon’ (RM37 = €7,70) looked almost too nice to eat. A combination of fresh watermelon with fried halloumi and tomatoes.

Ivan’s Opus Ice Cream
After these tapas, there was still enough room for a dessert… or two. We started with ‘Chef Ivan’s Opus Ice Cream’ for RM30, converted €6,20. Okay, admittedly, the size of this dessert is a bit disappointing. You can easily eat it on your own, so you don’t have to share it. That’s anyways better with dessert, you should just keep it to yourself 😉 What looked like a small magnum on a stick tasted like salted caramel chocolate with banana ice cream. Next to that a crunchie biscuit with banana cream and vanilla aroma, perfect! This was delicious, and we couldn’t wait for the next dessert.

Fuego at Troika Sky Dining
Level 23A Tower B, The Troika, 19, Persiaran KLCC, Kuala Lumpur, 50450 Kuala Lumpur.
From subway station Ampang Park it’s a five-minute walk to the restaurant.
The restaurant is every day open from 6 pm onwards.
