A day at Universal Studios in Singapore

On the island of Sentosa in Singapore, you’ll find a lot of resorts as well as Universal Studios. A day in an amusement park with many rides, shows and a lot of tourists. This was just great and we enjoyed it for eleven hours.

Garlic

I was allowed to go to Singapore with Jeroen for another week. We had seen most of the tourist attractions, so we went looking for something new for the weekend. Eventually, we decided to go to Universal Studios for a day. A ticket costs $79 per person, turned to €53. This is via the official site and the cash desk in the park. We bought tickets via the app Klook and here it was $18 cheaper in total. The studios are located on the island of Sentosa. The last time we were there, was on the wrong day. Now we went on a Saturday and in terms of crowds, it wasn’t actually that bad!

Disneyland

In the end, we enjoyed ourselves for eleven hours at Universal Studios. The park is divided into six themes: New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away and Madagascar. There is plenty to do in every theme. Various attractions, roller coasters, shows and meet and greets. Actually a kind of Disneyland.

Transformers

The park is beautifully decorated and elaborated in detail. Much attention has also been paid to the attractions. A ride in the Transformers is absolutely the best ride I’ve ever been in. With 3D glasses on, you sit in the car and imagine yourself in a world full of shooting Transformers and a car that tears in all directions. This has been recreated so lifelike that you have the feeling that you are really being shot at.

Fireworks

After eating only ice cream, hamburgers, fries and waffles all day long, we ended the evening at ten o’clock with fireworks. Less spectacular than in Disneyland, but still a nice ending. Even though we are both not really fans of amusement parks, this day was a lot of fun!

India

Besides enjoying the attractions, including ‘Transformers the Ride: the Ultimate 3D Battle’ and the show ‘Waterworld’, we also have been looking at tourists. In India, it’s already summer holiday in some parts. Many Indians come to Singapore and Universal Studios. Do you know those movies on Facebook where you see people running at eight in the morning for a bed in the best place?

Arena

We were waiting half an hour before the show started for the fence to open. At the moment this happened, you could see all the Indian people running very fast to the next fence and then waiting at the front, again. When the fence opened they moved at a fast pace to the arena for the best spot. So it was a real arena with more than enough space for everyone. We laughed a lot about the show, but also about what we had seen before.
