Waterworld show at Universal Studios Singapore
At Universal Studios in Singapore, you can scream your head off, get a picture taken with your favorite character from Madagascar and enjoy the twenty-minute spectacular show ‘Waterworld’. We enjoyed this show so much that’s why we went twice.
Running
Last time, I had already written a piece about the Studios and what you can do there. Three times a day they also have a show in a huge arena. We stood in line and when the gate opened, suddenly everyone started to run. It was really bizarre because the arena wasn’t even full when all the people were inside. But hey you have to do something to get the best place.

Pole dancer
I was wondering if these stunt actors work fulltime in the park or if it’s more of a side job. Hard to imagine, because soon it became clear that they have to train very hard to make such dives without drowning. I crawled into my stalker role and went looking for the actors. Some male actors also played in films and they all have in common that they love sports. The woman in the show is a real fitness guru and pole dancer. And what do you think? She hates swimming! So the perfect show for her or not…
Umbrella
The arena is divided into three parts. The front seats are called ‘wet seats’. Here you for sure are going home soaking wet. Next comes the part where you can get some drops over you and behind those seats you are safe. This is very clearly indicated so it is up to you where you sit. During the show we suddenly see people raising their umbrellas because they didn’t want to get wet! Those were the people who went running in the beginning. We didn’t get it but enjoyed the show anyhow ánd we stayed dry!

Spinning cars
Years ago we went to Disneyland Paris where we visited the park as well as the studios. I remember being overwhelmed by the cars that were tearing apart and spinning in circles. Anyway, I was about ten years old back then. This time, I’m 25 now, I was even more impressed compared to the show in Disneyland.
Muscular
Jumping jet skiers, huge explosions, dangerous dives, falling towers, men on fire and a plane crash. And all of that in only twenty minutes. That’s how fast the world can go down. You don’t have enough eyes to see everything. That’s why you need to see the show again. The actors, besides one of them all are men, are incredibly muscular and are swimming ridiculously fast.
Hollywood’s biggest cinema disappointment
Waterworld: A Live Sea War Spectacular can be seen in the studios of Hollywood, Singapore and Japan. The show is based on the film Waterworld from 1995 and since then this show exists. The film cost $325 million, the budget was only half and turned out to be a huge flop. Today, the film is considered Hollywood’s biggest cinema disappointment and that with Kevin Costner in the lead! The film got bad reviews, but the show, however, turned out to be a resounding success.
